The ease of this resolution has convinced me to buy a Cuisinart product again! Coffeediva22 So now we will have a brand new version of our old machine soon! Have not found a permanent fix, but using a hair dryer to dry it out seems to work. I found my manual, and decided we hadn't cleaned it recently. We let it sit a couple of days and every now and then, turned on the coffee maker, and in a couple of days it went. We put it through again withthe same solution (to clean calcium deposits) and then with water a few times to get rid of the vinegar smell. It's been working well for two days now. Login to post I have a regular cuisinart coffee maker for12 cups (no grinder).. I have the Cuisinart automatic grind and brew, model DCC490SA.. The pot brewed a good cup of coffee but as of now it is useless. The frequency depends upon the hardness of your tap water and how often you use the coffeemaker. The flashing Clean light will indicate when you should clean your coffeemaker. If the Clean light begins to flash when the coffeemaker is turned on, it is telling you that the calcium buildup is interfering with the functioning of your coffeemaker and the flavor of your coffee. Press the Clean button. The Clean light will shine steadily. The coffeemaker is now in Clean mode. One cycle should be sufficient to adequately clean the coffeemaker. When the cycle is completed and the five beeps sound, the coffeemaker will shut off. Turn the coffeemaker ON to see if the Clean light continues to flash. If it does, turn it to OFF and then repeat the cleaning procedure with a fresh solution of vinegar and water. If the Clean light no longer flashes, turn the coffeemaker to OFF and then run one cycle of fresh cold water through the unit before using the unit again to brew coffee. Notes on the Clean F unction Pressing the Clean button cancels all other settings.http://adepotcustom.com/UploadFiles/20200907154557130.xml

If it is pressed accidentally, press it again to return the coffeemaker to all its previous settings. Steve Alvarado 4.0 out of 5 stars Also the constant dripping of coffee on the heating pad was making it build up with burnt coffee and making a really big mess. So. I decided to try something new. I like the design of this, just press a lever and the coffee comes out. Others have complained about it breaking before or around 1-yr of use, so far we have had ours about 8mo and it works perfect. I would probably purchase one again and have already recommended it to friends and family members. Then I read about all of the automatic features, the quality construction, and attractive brushed chrome appearance. Wow, I was SOLD. Now that I have used this coffeemaker for a little over a month, I am so thrilled with it that I actually LOOK FORWARD to making coffee in the morning. Now, the best part. FABULOUS! Just like at the Quick-Mart.I would have to put my cup in the microwave and heat it for over a minute. All in all, THIS IS THE BEST COFFEEMAKER OUT THERE. Do yourself a favor. They were good but the pad to keep the coffee warm died in each one after about 3 years. The reviews for the Cuisinart So I bought it. I had trouble figuring out how to fill and use it. The HB carafe is used to fill the water well so the amount of water is always right and I assumed the this model would be about the same. Wrong. The box on the Cuisinart which dispenses the coffee in this model cannot be used to pour from. Negative number one.

Because the interior is black, I had a hard time figuring out where to pour the water. Because the gauge to show how much water has been added is on the side, it is difficult to see. In fact, after putting in too much water several times, I had to re-arrange my countertop so I could see the guage. I have to combine a funnel and pitcher to fill the water well. The clock is not backlit (as it is in the HB) so, for me at least, it is useless for anything. I like to drink my coffee from a tall glass or cup. I never had a problem filling these with the HB. However I have to remove the splash tray if I want to use anything other than a standard coffee cup. And I can't fill my coffee mugs (tall ones) for trips at all. I have to transfer the coffee from a cup to the mug. So how many negatives does that make? About 8. The quality of one's coffee depends more on the beans etc than the coffee maker, per se, so I don't find this model makes any better coffee than the HB models I've had. I've had this one for a few months and am more-or-less used to it. But when I replace it, I'll most likely buy another Hamilton Beach model. The coffee maker offers 24-hour programming and an auto shutoff feature, a visible water level and indicator showing how many cups of coffee are remaining in the reservoir. While the DCC-2000 coffee maker should operate well with basic care and maintenance, issues may occasionally occur. Troubleshooting these problems may help resolve any difficulties. The Cuisinart DC-2000 can produce up to 12 cups of coffee at one time. Step 1 Ensure the DCC-2000 is plugged into a working power supply and turned “On” if the device is not powering up. Reset local fuses or circuit breakers if necessary. Step 2 Open the top of the coffee maker and ensure the filter basket holder is set firmly into the basket holder. The filter basket holder must be in position for the device to work correctly and produce the desired number of cups of coffee.

Step 3 Ensure the coffee filter basket handle is positioned facing the front of the unit if coffee seems to be blocked or not enough is produced. The handle can interfere with the coffee production if it's not in the proper position. Step 4 Check how many tablespoons of ground coffee were placed into the device if the coffee maker is overflowing. The maximum capacity is 15 tablespoons of coffee for 12 cups of coffee. Empty the coffee reservoir, rinse and fill with 1 tbsp.Refill the water reservoir and start the brewing process. Step 5 Wait for the coffee reservoir to cool prior to cleaning the unit, if the reservoir is warm to the touch. If the reservoir is still warm, the coffee in the reservoir is hot as well and may cause burns. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in history from San Francisco State University. Find It Here! For many, it's the liquid strength they need to conquer the day and get off on the right foot. You can imagine how disconcerting it would be to go to your coffee maker to fill your cup and realize that the magical brew never brewed at all. The problem could be anything from calcium buildup to faulty wiring, and a simple examination of your machine could give you the answer you're looking for. A great place to start is the owner's manual that came with your coffee maker. There's a troubleshooting section where it will identify a potential problem and then give you an option on how to fix it. Many coffee makers have a small valve that withholds the flow of coffee if the pot isn't centered to prevent coffee from dripping out onto your countertop. A simple verification and making the necessary adjustments could be all it takes to get your coffee pot full again. Before taking any extreme measures, make sure you've checked the obvious solutions like whether the coffee machine has been plugged in, if there's water in the reservoir chamber and if there are coffee grounds in the basket. If all of these simple solutions check out, continue examining your machine for the bigger problem. It's possible that it has become faulty or been compromised and no longer functions. Don't attempt to replace it yourself because dealing with electricity is always best left to professionals. The buildup can usually be cleaned out with a toothpick or dissolved by running the coffee maker with vinegar in the water reservoir. If you successfully clean your machine and decalcify it, ideally you should run a couple of cycles with only water before adding coffee grinds.

Regular cleaning and decalcifying won't only leave your coffee maker in top shape but will give your coffee the best and most accurate taste. Most of the service manuals were downloaded from the Internet. These documents are not complete service manuals but do give some information. The recorder is technically similar to the DCC-300, DCC-380 and DCC-600. Developed by Matsushita?

The mechanism is identical to the DCC-170 and there are commonalities in the schematics between the DCC-170 and DCC-175 too, but it’s not possible to hack the DCC-170 to make it into a DCC-175: the PCB designs are very different. Waling Tiersma provided a paper copy of the service manual, and Jac Goudsmit scanned it at the highest resolution that his dad’s scanner supported: 300dpi. They were processed as follows: That may have made the PDF larger than needed but since this service manual seems to be extremely rare, it seems like it would be the right decision. This is not a full service manual but some additional information. Virtually identical to the DCC-951 except some connections were missing (not populated) and it had a 14-segment display. Unfortunately no information about the DCC drive (that was probably a separate document anyway). If you can provide a better version, please contact the DCC Museum! Virtually identical to the DCC-730 but it had some extra connections for the 900-series remote control bus, and it had a dot-matrix display. The document makes it clear without a doubt that by 1993, Philips was trying hard to make the Turbo Drive mechanism with the 3rd generation chipset a standard in the world. This document, intended for service technicians and service trainers, plus the datasheets for the third-generation chipset, are a great source of information about the DCC standard and how a DCC recorder works. Definitely worth a read! It doesn’t have a text display so it can’t show (or record) track titles. It’s the only front loading DCC recorder that Philips produced (the DCC-850 and DCC-771 double-deck were also front loaders but they never went into production). This recorder has many features such as the ability to store 4 texts with each track. The schematic hints at the possibility that Matsushita may have been working on a longplay DCC format at the time of the demise of DCC.

Lots of extra information in this service manual; worth reading if you’re new to DCC. Posted 10 years ago. My second one just failed today with the very same problems others state here: Power goes off at different times.sometimes you get it back by unplugging.waiting replug again(like rebooting a computer ! ). But that only worked a few times. Which is now this one that failed also.very same problems. Called them again today.and they said sorry can't help on this one. I told them I'd only had this second one now for about a year.which they verified.BUT.she informed me the Three year warranty is ONLY on the first one.which they replaced.and even though they replaced it with a complete brand new one.the 3 year warranty starts ONLY from the date of the first one I bought !!!! What a policy ! I was 2 months out of three years on the First unit.and only had the replacement 14 months. Is that crazy policy or not. So.even though I like the idea of no carafe.I'm done with this company. Time for a good old Mr Coffee for about the Third of the price.and they seem to last forever. Cusinart needs to find a better 'board' in that unit.which I'll bet is what is failing. The board that tells it to power on- heat or not.or else they have a temperature sensor that is very inaccurate after time.thinking the unit is too hot.and to shut it down. Just an Idea. Good Bye Cusinart. for me.It looks great, operates great, coffee tastes great, it's super easy to use, and it's really not that expensive. Our first one died right around it being two years old.

We took a chance and contacted their customer support and they shipped us out another one - we were very pleased..Then two years later it died also. Now I go to find a replacement and I see that they're still selling the same exact coffee maker? Wow. With everybody reporting this same issue, you'd think that they would fix the thing with some new hardware part. Now, I can't tell you what exactly goes wrong on this thing - other than the first symptoms are the thing shutting off right after brewing is finished.Soon after that symptom occurs, the thing shuts off entirely and you're lucky to see anything out of it again. Cuisinart told us that it's because we didn't CLEAN IT REGULARLY.No, I would not recommend this to a friend Helpful (3) Unhelpful (0) Report Comment ColleenA ColleenA Rated 1 out of 5 stars Worst Coffeemaker Posted 10 years ago. ColleenA This is the second Cuisinart On-Demand unit we've had. It made great coffee and kept it nice and hot. We also liked having no carafe to break. New one arrived, worked great for approximately one year and this morning it won't turn on - completely dead. Why are they still selling this product. I thought Cuisinart meant quality - not so. We will not buy another Cuisinart product after this experience. Scott340 I've had two of these and now I am done with Cuisinart. They are aware of a circuit board problem and will not back up product. We are very big coffee drinkers. We make at least 2 full pots on a weekday and about 4 on weekend days. Is that the coffee habits of other people who's machines broke within a year. That is the only thing I can think of as the reason some people have machines that work fine forever and the majority of us have machines, not one, but two, that break within a year. So my advice is if you are a big coffee drinker stay away. After a few of those Saturday mornings and a quick drive thru tthe Dunkin Donuts in you jammies you to will have had it. So trust me, save yourself now. Unfortunately it will die suddenly within 1-2 years. I would recommend this only if you can afford to buy a new one every 1-2 years, because the taste is better than anything with a carafe. CarlinDC For our wedding, we were given four small appliances by Cuisinart. Two of them have broken in less than two years (a wine cellar and now this coffee pot) and one just doesn't work very well (a blender). This coffee pot is a neat idea and looks great on the counter. When we first had it, we loved it. Coffee tasted great, was kept hot but not burned, and the pour-by-cup feature was a neat gimmick. Within a year, the quality of the coffee had started to go downhill and the coffee wasn't kept as hot -- frequently having to be put in the microwave if it was poured more than 45 minutes after brewing.
